Split the files into the smallest sections that I can handle so further splitting is not an option. But the moment I try to run the File/Compress Pictures mode, Powerpoint just crashes and brings up the usual "Sorry but. I have some files that are about 900Mb and they run fine in normal Powerpoint mode (no speed problems, loading etc). I am surprised that such a RELATIVELY small file size causes a major corruption! I am using a MacBook Pro Retina with i7 processor, 16Gb RAM and 500Gb Flash Drive so the computer should not be a limiting factor. If I keep the file size below about 350Mb, the file will compress nicely but above this, theĬompression action will crash Powerpoint. ![]() ![]() However, there seems to be a file size limit beyond which Powerpoint crashes on compression and sends a report to Microsoft. The files I am developing are large because they contain a large number of high resolution photos (.jpg) and I want to keep the original images in the master Powerpoint files then compress to 220ppi orġ50ppi for the working presentations. I am using Office 365 on a Mac - Powerpoint 2016.
